Mimosa tree

My view out the window from my desk is to the neighbor's back yard and the stunning mimosa tree that was planted just a few years ago. It was little more than a twig three years ago and it's a good sized tree now, slightly taller than the one in the Wikipedia photo on the left.

I've read that it's a messy tree but I've not heard my neighbor complain about it. Of course, only the dogs use that back yard so maybe it's something she hasn't noticed since her husband does dog duty.

If I were to plant a tree, this would be it. It grows rapidly and the flowers last for several months. Notice the shape? It spreads more out than up.
